Presuming that the music has changed to something that is not of the default; by using the Bicycle or viewing the TM/HM pocket to lower the volume for example, if the player travels to Spring Path, and into Sendoff Spring if he or she immediately cycles back to Route 214 the music will become muted even if the player uses the bicycle again, until he or she leaves the route.

The Mute the music in Route 214 glitch, "Sendoff Spring to Silent Spring", or "Silent Route 214 glitch" is a minor glitch which causes the game to temporarily mute the music in Route 214. It only exists in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl because of a slightly different game engine in Pokémon Platinum. Also in Pokémon Platinum, Spring Path no longer uses the Old Chateau theme, and rather uses the same route music as Route 214, so the game would not attempt to change the music and thus activate the glitch.

Requirements

1. The player needs to temporarily change the music, for example by using the Bicycle or using the TM/HM case to lower the volume.
2. The player also needs to have beaten the Pokémon League, so that he or she can access Spring Path and Sendoff Spring.

Method

1. Travel through a gap to the right of Route 214, leading to Spring Path.
2. Change the music in some way and travel to Sendoff Spring.
3. Turn back and procede back through Spring Path and onto Route 214.
4. The music will have become muted, until the player leaves the route.
