Jump to: navigation, search

A Glitch City exists in Pokémon Gold, Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Crystal which is rather similar to that of the Red, Blue, and Yellow versions, though it is much harder to reach without the use of a game-altering device.

There are two ways to access the Glitch City of the Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions: one way is a Walk-Through-Walls code and the other is the glitch Pokémon ?????) . The Walk-Through-Walls code can only be done on Pokémon Crystal and the code to encounter ????? can only be done on the Gold and Silver versions.

Procedure (Gold/Silver)

  1. Use one of the following GameShark codes for Pokémon Gold and Silver to encounter ?????:

01FCEDD0 (for ????? (252))

01FEEDD0 (for ????? (254))

01FFEDD0 (for ????? (255))

2. Defeat the ????? that appears, and the player should arrive in Glitch City.

Like in Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, the player will not be able to move around much without a Walk-Through-Walls code. There are Pokémon Trainers from the area the player battled ????? in this version of the Gold/Silver/Crystal Glitch City, but they will usually freeze the player's game when battled. If the player does battle the trainer, the trainer will look like a ?????.

Effects of Gold/Silver/Crystal Glitch City

  • These Glitch Cities will change some of the names of the Pokémon in the player's party slightly by replacing two characters with ?9. It also changes the OT's name in some Pokémon.

  • Changes are also made to the player's Trainer Card. It adds a semicolon to the player's money and he or she may lose or gain a few badges.

  • It also changes the number of items in the pack, as well as what items are in the pack.

Other info

There is a glitched trainer in Glitch City. It's often either a girl or the player's character. He/she can see diagonally and if he/she does see you, then that person will speak messed up text or crash the game. If he/she does speak glitch text, the player will be taken into a battle and the text box will fill up with question marks. To find the glitched trainer, press START and look at the party, and the player will enter a Glitch City at daytime and with different tiles. The player's character might be invisible after this.

The player can also do this indoors. The player will be in a room where flowers are sitting on the chairs if there were any chairs in the original room. And some objects are "glowing" in the dark. Press START and the player will be in a indoors-like Gold/Silver/Crystal Glitch City.
