In Super Mario World, usually when Yoshi lands in the lava he will sink. However, if the lava has been set at a angle Yoshi will not sink, but instead Mario will jump off of Yoshi.

The Angled Lava Glitch is a minor glitch which only exists in Super Mario World for the SNES. If the player is riding a Yoshi and lands in the lava he or she will normally sink; however if the lava has been set at a angle Yoshi will not sink and Mario will simply jump off of Yoshi. This can be a useful glitch for Speed-Runs because it will take time if the player waits on a platform of skulls to procede through the lava.
